James Alford Stout, 58 years of age, of 265 Hoyt Ave. in Muncie, Indiana, departed this life on Tuesday, June 6th, 1978 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
James was born in Olive Branch, Illinois on December 29th, 1919, son of the late Sam and Pheba Stout. He was a resident of Muncie for the past 30 years, moving here from Arkansas. He retired in 1970 from the Ben Ziegler Company where he was employed as a crane operator for 10 years. James was a veteran of World War II.
James was survived by his loving his wife Hazel Pauline Stout, whom he married on November 29th, 1941; five daughters, Retha Stout and Janette Stout; both of Muncie, Indiana, Nancy (and Russell) Goodman of Yorktown, Indiana, Lois (and Wilburn) Cooper of New Castle, Indiana, and Geneva (and Luther) Bradley of Barlett, Kansas; and five sons, James (and Sherry) Stout, Sherman Stout, and Carl Stout all of Muncie, Indiana, Tom Stout of Smyrna, Georgia, and Delbert (and Pam) Stout of Grubbs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; one brother, Everett Stout of Nettleton, Arkansas; four sisters, Marie Caldwell of Bono, Arkansas, Clarabelle Wilson of Grubbs, Arkansas, Eveline Stevens of Muncie, Indiana and Inez Reynolds of Jacksonport, Arkansas; a half-sister, Mae Underwood of Blytheville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
Visitations were held on Wednesday, June 7th, 1978 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Parson Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 8th, 1978 at 3:00 p.m. in the Parson Mortuary Chapel.
Burial followed in the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
