Lil' Leo the Great Dane pup.
This lil guy grew up so fast. He was one of 12 in his litter.
He was a loyal pup starting at the time he went to his forever home.
Lil' Leo was motivated by treats. He would pick up a toy and prance around the house with it looking like America's next top model dog, and encourage a game of chase for the toy. Once to the his desired treat bowl area he would drop the toy and point up to where his Dane size bones were kept.
He loved snuggles with his owners and got frightened easily from people who were crouched down behind places he couldn't see them very well. He was on the lookout for the peeper/creepers everywhere he went, including the stocking guys/gals at the pet stores. He kept his human family safe by sounding the alarm when there was a person peeping over and around places.
He enjoyed playing with his doggie adopted siblings while they grew up. Daisy was his big sister and big brother Snoopy , little Jack Russell Terriers, small but mighty siblings, and Lewis, a Shar-pei Pointer mix was the best protective big brother a Dane could have. Daisy and Lewis preceded him in crossing the rainbow bridge.
Lil' Leo loved jumping, he would jump to look over fences to see what the neighbors were up to. He also loved jumping on the trampoline, he loved doing his zoomies around the yard and including jumping on and off the trampoline. As he aged he was less and less able to get to his favorite place to lay down, the trampoline. Last year his parent, grand parents , and brother in law, dug in the trampoline so he and the new additions to the Zaugg family could enjoy the ease of Lil' Leo's favorite place to relax. Of course nobody else could jump on the trampoline the way Lil' Leo could. He enjoyed bouncing those who wanted to jump without him, usually while doing a full zoomie in their direction.
Lil' Leo was anything but little. He got the nickname Lil Leo from his first weeks at his forever home.
He was so big he could place his head on your shoulder to rest it while you sat at the table to eat a meal. He was beautiful.
His family loved everything about him. From the moment he could stand tall and sit on their laps, to the space he took up in their beds, often squeezing his way into tight places, he loved his family and to be near them.
