Carolyn Jean Rasmussen Baldwin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at her home in Sandy, January 31, 1993, after a valiant and courageous battle with Cancer.







Born March 19, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Sherman and Ada Helena Jensen Rasmussen. Married James H. Baldwin, May 4, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake and graduated from South High in 1947. Carolyn was employed by Metropolitan Life for 12 years, (was named clerk of the month for the Western U.S. Region), real estate agent for Dee Swegle Realtor, was employed by Jordan School District the past 16 years, where she was recently presented a plaque by Majestic School for outstanding service.A devoted member of the LDS Church, she served in the Primary and Relief Society and in the MIA on ward and stake levels. She loved drama and speech and wrote and produced many roadshows and other Church programs. Carolyn was talented in music, art, writing, leadership and was an excellent cook.







Her greatest role was that of wife and mother. Her family was her priority and she gave unconditional love to each of them. She was a loyal and trusted friend. She loved life and she and her husband loved spending time in the outdoors with their family.






Survived by her husband, Jim, Sandy; son, Clair and wife Carolyn, Midvale; daughter, Jane Berry and husband John, Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Ben, Brett, Melissa Baldwin; Kylee Berry; two step grandchildren, Johnny and Stephanie Berry; sister, Fern McCann and husband Harvey, Midvale; six sisters-in-law and many cherished loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dean, Clair and Frank.







Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 1993 at 12 noon in the Poppy Lane LDS Ward Chapel, 9501 Poppy Lane, Sandy. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Street on Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the Church from 10:45 to 11:45, prior to the Services.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
