George Washington Gosnell is the son of Francis Marion and Nancy Caroline Moss Gosnell. He has a twin sister, Eliza Jane Gosnell. George married Daisey M. Vehorn. They has 13 children. There daughter Tee Gosnell Pittman is my grandmother.

GEORGE W. GOSNELL

INMAN, June 28 - George Washington Gosnell, 74, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in a Spartanburg hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Gosnell was born and reared in upper Greenville County, a son of the late Frances and Caroline Moss Gosnell. He had lived in Spartanburg County for 50 years. He was a member of the Ingleside Baptist Church near Landrum.

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Daisy Vehorn; three sons, John and Horace of Inman, Route 3, and George Gosnell of Hickory, N.C.; five daughters,Mrs. Mae Stedman of Landrum, Mrs. Elsie Johnson and Mrs. Nettie Johnson of Saluda, N.C., Mrs. Myrtis McCrain of Asheville, N.C. and Mrs. Tee Pittman of Hickory, N.C.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, John of Chesnee and Marion and Jesse Gosnell of Landrum, Route 2; seven sisters, Mrs. Catherine Ballew, Mrs. Amanda Morris, Mrs. Martha Pierce, Mrs. Eliza Pruitt, Mrs. Linda Plumley and Mrs. Polly Campbell of Landrum and Mrs. Bessie Belue of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Ingleside Baptist Church near Landrum conducted by the Rev. A.T. Howard and the Rev. Warner Milliner. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

After 10 a.m. Thursday the body will be at the home of his son, John Gosnell, Inman, Route 3, where he had made his home.
