D.W. was the son of Minion Hugh Montgomery, and Lydia ? Montgomery. There were several siblings. According to ancestry Family Tree, D.W. mar. Sinthy Elizabeth and they had several children; then, after her death he married Alice J. "Jennie" Alexander Barett,* with whom he had four children.
His bio can be read on Montgomery Family Tree, ancestry.com, which states that he was a medical doctor, and that he practiced for years in the area.
