Death Takes Richard Starr, Railway Man
Funeral services for Richard Paul Starr, 52, Western traffic manager for the Great Northern Railway, are being arranged by the Bonney-Watson mortuary. He died in a Seattle hospital yesterday. He had been in the hospital for several months, suffering from a heart ailment.
Born in Butte, Mont., Mr. Starr had been with the Great Northern since 1921. He came to Seattle from Tacoma as assistant general freight agent in 1938. In 1945 he became general freight agent and was advanced to his present position in 1946.
Surviving are his wife, Olga, 6209 50th Av. N.E.; his mother, Mrs. Allie Starr, Seattle; three sisters, Virginia Starr and Mrs. Frank Carey, both of Seattle, and Mrs. Paul Hart, Fresno, Calif., and a brother, J.M. Starr, Eugene, Ore.
