"Kitt Behringer Funeral Held Here Saturday - Kitt Behringer, who passed away at his home one mile southwest of Meridian Friday morning, April 15, at 3 o'clock, was born May 20, 1859 at Round Top, Texas, in Fayette county. He was 72 years, 10 months and 25 days of age at the time of his death.
He was married to Miss Mary Mildred Hayes, of Giddings, Texas in Lee county, on November 22, 1882. He was converted, baptized and united with the Missionary Baptist church at Shady Grove, Texas in Lee county under the preaching of Rev. R. M. Carr in the summer of 1903, and lived a Christian life for a few years, and then, like many others, he went astray, but came back to his Lord in the summer of 1912, under the preaching of Rev. J. W. W. Wallace at Towash, Texas, and in 1927 united with the Baptist churh of Meridian under the preaching of the present pastor.
He is survived by his wife and nine children, all of whom were present, and also one brother and three sisters, who with his many friends, mourn his departure.
The people greatly esteemed the friendship, fellowship and cooperation of Bro. Behringer, who departed from this life in the triumphs of a living faith in Christ and His atoning blood. Even in the midst of death this conquering soul rejoiced in his hopes of a mansion in the skies and prayed that his family and all might meet him in that heavenly home through the saving grace of Christ.
Funeral services were held at the grave in Meridian cemetery, Saturday morning, April 16, conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. E. R. Gordon. The many friends of the family join in sympathy for the bereaved ones.
