CARROLL COUNTY - Funeral services for James E. Brown, 58, who died Saturday at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital following a long illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Carroll County.

Mr. Brown, a retired carpenter, was born and raised in Carroll County. He had lived for many years in Tiptonville, Tenn., and had been a resident of Carroll County for the past six years. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Brown; two sons, James D. Brown of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Sonny Brown Brown of Carrollton; one daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Fisher of Bylahlia; his mother, Mrs. S.E. Brown of Carrollton; three brothers, Alton Brown of Greenwood, Coles Brown of Carrollton and Noble Brown of Winona ; one sister, Mrs. Gloria Moore of Carrollton; and three grandchildren.

Burial will be in Moore's Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Leon Holly will officiate at the services.

Pallbearers will be Neal Fisher, Chuck Fisher, Bill Criddle, David Brown, Terry Brown and Jerry Lee.

Williams and Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
