E. R. BACON DIES AT HOME IN KINGSTON
Kingston, Sept. 23
E. R. Bacon passed away at his home here shortly after noon Tuesday of heart disease and complications. He was 69 years old on Aug. 19. He was born at Sycamore and later lived in Boone county. Dec. 2, 1879, he married Miss Eliza Stenner of Kirkland. Four children blessed this union, Lena, Mrs. Clarence Gieske of Elgin, Wilmer H. of Herbert, George C. of this place and Clara, Mrs. William Littlejohn of Kirkland. the mother passed away Jan. 9, 1898, on the farm in Kingston, where they then resided. Later Mr. Bacon moved here and Dec. 31, 1903, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Angeline Grover Bassett, who survives him. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Edward E. Brown, of this place, and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are not complete. Burial will be at Blood's Point cemetery.

DEATH OF A RESPECTED CITIZEN OF KINGSTON
Elmer R. Bacon, for many years a resident of Kingston and for most of his life a resident of this vicinity, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, shortly after noon of heart disease. He was 69 years of age on Aug. 19, having been born in 1855.
December 2, 1879, he was married to Eliza Stenner of Kirkland. Four children were born to them: Lena, who is Mrs. Clarence Gieske of Elgin; Wilmer H. of Herbert, George C. of this place and Clara, who is Mrs. William Littlejohn of Kirkland. The mother died Jan. 9, 1898, at the farm home north of Kingston. Later Mr. Bacon moved to town and on Dec. 31, 1903, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Angeline Grover Bassett, who survives. He leaves one sister Mrs. E. E. Brown and fourteen grandchildren.
Mr. Bacon was a quiet, home-loving man, a kind husband and father and is sincerely mourned.

Genoa Issue:

Elmer Bacon passed Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. after an illness of heart trouble with complications, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 4 days. Mr Bacon was born in Sycamore August 19, 1855. His parents soon moved to a farm in Boone county, where he spent his boyhood. He was united in marriage December 2, 1879 to Miss Eliza Stenner of Kirkland, who passed away January 9, 1898. To this union were born four children, all who survive him: Mrs. Lena Gieske of Elgin, Wilmer H. Bacon of Herbert, George C. of Kingston and Mrs. Clara Littlejohn of Kirkland. He was united in marriage December 31, 1903 to Mrs. Angeline Brover Bassett of Kingston, who also survives him. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the M.E. church. Burial at Blood's Point cemetery.

Elmer Rozell Bacon's death certificate indicates that he died September 23, 1924 and was 69 years old.


Note: I have never located an obituary or death record for Eliza Stenner Bacon but all known sources (including family records) indicate that she died January 6, 1899 at their home near Kingston. KDB

In the 1900 census, Elmer is residing with his parents, Henry & Polly Bacon at their home in Kingston. His youngest daughter, Clara was with an aunt, Clara Stenner Weaver at Kirkland.
