Forrest Bailey, 72, of LaGrange, Ga., died Monday morning, July 19, 1993, at West Georgia Medical Center.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary's LaGrange Chapel, with burial in Shadowlawn Cemetery. Evangelists Alton Bailey and Larry Thompson will officiate. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Mr. Bailey was born September 29, 1920, in Randolph County, Ala., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Leon Bailey. He lived in LaGrange since 1946 and was a former employee of Callaway Mills and West Point Pepperell Mills. He was a member of the Murphy Avenue Church of Christ and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Edna Conner Bailey of LaGrange; two sons, Dr. David Bailey of Gainesville, Ga., and Leon Bailey of Cleveland, Ga.; four daughters, Brooksie DeLoach of Pine Mountain, Ga., Barbara Miller of Standing Rock, and Mary Truett and Gail Hosey, both of LaGrange; three brothers, Tommie Bailey, Ivory Bailey, and Alton Bailey, all of LaGrange; one sister, Ilene Fling of LaGrange; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
