He was born on February 9, 1926 in Summerfield, Florida to the late Lyda Maddox Dansby and George W Dansby. He received an A.A. degree from the University of Florida, attended Millsaps College, and Columbia University, served in the US Navy WW II and the Korean War, and retired from Industrial Equipment Sales.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie; two sons; Robert B. Jr. (Dallas) Dansby of Newhall, California and Sidney W. (Dealey) Dansby; grandchildren, Hailey Reilly and Jamie Dansby of Tampa; daughter, Amy D (John) Minson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; two brothers, George W. Dansby of Nashville, Tennessee and Scott H (Donna) Dansby of Alachua; two sisters, Martha Sue (Fred) Smith of Arlington, Texas and George Ann (Johnnie) Ball of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February, 23 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Community Hospice of NE Florida, Hadlow Center, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257. Internment will be at Millwood Cemetery in Reddick, Florida
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Danby's name to Community Hospice of NE Florida.
