Was from Bartow County, Georgia. Enlisted in Company F, 18th Infantry Regiment Georgia on 26 Jun 1861. Wounded on Aug 30 1862 at 2nd Manassas, VA. Died of wounds received in battle.

He married Jan. 18, 1855 in Cherokee County, GA to Mary Ann McClure, daughter of Richard and Pamela M. McClure.
