He was married in 1930 in Oklahoma to Lorina Frizzell. He had lived in Olney since 1915, was retired and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Dees and Mrs. Geneva Wright, both of Olney, and Mrs. Irene Sheehan of Wichita Falls; a son, Gerald A. Sharp of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell Gray of Olney and Mrs. Iva Mae Reynolds of Lubbock; two brothers, John Sharp of Tulsa, Okla., and Loyd "Bobby" Sharp of Bunkie, La.; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
