Winnifred Holden Harris, 70 yrs. 2 mos, 23 days of Sterling St. Portland-Peaks Island, Maine passed away at 5:50 p.m in the Portland City Hospital. She was the daughter of, Charlotte Rosene (Parsons) and George Bartol Harris.

Winnifred H. Harris, married, George Frederick Earley, on June 2, 1919. At the time of their marriage, George was 18 yrs. old and lived at 100 Washington Ave. Portland, Maine. His occupation was Laborer, he also was a longshoreman. Winnifred, was 18 at the time of marriage, she lived at 47 Anderson St., Portland, Maine and her occupation was Box Maker. This was the 1st marriage for both. They were married in Portland by Clarence H. Coughlan, Clergyman, date of his commission, July, 1917 his residence 307 Congress Street. Certificate of Marriage No. 9863. State of Maine.

Winnifred's right hand was damaged and crippled when she worked on an ironing machine in a Laundry but it never stopped her from making the most beautiful quilts. Some with beautiful embroidered animals & color cook characters on them. Francis "Frank" & Anne Earley's children all had one. She also had diabetes, she was short about 5 ft. 2", all of her children were tall with the boys being over 6 ft. This info was added by her daughter in-law Anne (Werner) Earley, Anne did remarry.

Cause of death: broncho pneumonia/2 weeks.
