Susanna, named for her grandmother, was the daughter of Tolbert Arnold and Ellen ESSEX Arnold and their fifth child and first daughter.
She was the granddaughter of my third great-grandparents, Thompson Arnold and Susannah HOLLAND Arnold. She was, also, the niece of my second great-grandfather, William Henry Arnold, Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann "Polly" SHOCKLEY Arnold.
She died at age 13 years, l month, and 19 days. Her stone reads "She was lovely, she was fair and for awhile was given. An angel came and claimed her soul and took her home to heaven."
Susanna was much loved and missed by her parents, siblings, and all who knew her.
