Charles M. Wolfgang Dies in Juneau Home
Charles M. Wolfgang, well-known retired carpenter, formerly employed by the Clearfield Bituminous Coal Corporation, died in his home in Juneau Thursday afternoon after an illness of five days, aged 68 years.
He was born in Sykesville, October 24, 1875, the son of Henry and Julianna Wulfert Wolfgang. On November 24, 1904, he was married to Miss Ella Pearson, who died 22 years ago. He later married Anna Domb Lunger, who survives him.
For 35 years the deceased had resided in Juneau where he was held in the highest regard. Until his retirement he was employed by the C.B.C.C., now the coal division of the New York Central Railroad, in Rossiter.
He leaves beside his wife, the following sons and daughters: Russell, of Rossiter; Mrs. Lamont Buterbaugh, of Juneau; Mrs. Alfred Lewis, of Ernest; Kenneth, of Creekside; Mrs. Robert Murray, of New Brunswick, N.J.; Dora, at home; two step-children, Mrs. Oakley Ellenberger, of Juneau; Thomas Lunger, of Rossiter; three brothers, William, of Florida; Frank, of Sykesville; Samuel, of Erie; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Patton, of Punxsutawney; Mrs. Clair Tozier, Mrs. Reed Himes, Mrs. Scott Roush, all of Reynoldsville R.D., and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Norman Pierce will officiate. Burial will be in the Pierce Cemetery.
