Samuel and Catherine were buried originally on the MB Lewis Ranch now at the bottom of Hensley Lake. Moved from Hidden Lake to Arbor Vitae Cemetery in 1971

Samuel Harper Lewis, son of Martin Baty Lewis who once owned a ranch between Willow Creek and the Fresno River that is now at the bottom of Hensley Lake behind Hidden Dam. Martin lived downstream from the Hensley family and had a family cemetery on his property just like the Hensley's. Four of his sons came out to California with him in 1850, Sameul Harper Lewis was one of the four. He is also listed as part of the Mariposa Battalion that discovered Yosemite Valley in 1851.
