Mr. Northen was born in Holland, TX in 1906. He was a proud life member of Baylor Alumni and received his bachelors degree on his 100th birthday. He was also an active member of Trinity Heights Baptist for over 45 years. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as Postal Supervisor after a significant career spanning 35 years.
Mr. Northen is survived by his daughter, Jean Northen; two grandchildren Gary Northen, Jr. and wife, Janet and Amy Barnett and husband, James; daughter-in-law Martha Northen; great grandchildren Gary III, Tyler, and Olivia Northen, Abby and Kelsey Allums; nephews Maurice, Roy, Homer, and Forrest Northen, all of Texas; and brother-in-law Slayton Hennigan.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Annie Lee Hennigan Northen, son Gary T. Northen, and brothers Houston and Tom Northen.
Honoring Mr. Northen as pallbearers will be Gary Northen Jr., Gary Northen III, Tyler Northen, James Barnett, Mike Duggan, Kenneth Hawthorne, and Burney Lummus. Honory pallbearers will be Mr. Northen's Sunday school class and Dr. Billy Bickham, Dr. Phillip Rozeman, Dr. James Bergeron, Dale Sandifer, Bo Roberts, and Richard Sale.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Heights Baptist Church, Baylor University, or a charity of the donor's choice.
