David Michael Switzer, Jr., 48, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

He was born September 27, 1974 in Paris, Illinois, the son of David M. Switzer, Sr. and Andrea (Livingston) Switzer.

He was an accounting analyst for Dimond Brothers Insurance.

David was a member of Antioch Faith Outreach Church. He was a 1992 graduate of Paris High School and attended Eastern Illinois University. He was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed all sports, and loved attending college and professional games all over the country. His love of sports led to his pastime of collecting sports trading cards. He was passionate about American history, and combined that passion with his love of traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling by train and boat. His travels took him all over the country and he always included historical sites on his journeys. He enjoyed kayaking and working in his yard. David was a genealogy buff and completed extensive research on his family, and also helped other genealogists by visiting numerous cemeteries, taking pictures of headstones, and uploading them to Find A Grave. He fulfilled his dream of becoming an actor by graduating from acting school in Los Angeles and working as a fulltime extra in movies and television for 2 years.

Burial was at Edgar Cemetery, Paris Illinois. David will be sadly missed by his parents and his brother, Adam. They are blessed to know that they will see him again in Heaven.
