"Former Buda Resident Dies in Anchorage. – BUDA – Mrs. Wm. Raymond (Helen) Montgomery, 80, of 3821 Crosson Drive, Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Buda, died Sunday, Sept. 7, in Providence Hospital, Anchorage.
Mrs. Montgomery was born March 17, 1895 in Buda, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Jones Wood. She married Mr. Montgomery in 1929 in Buda. He died July 14, 1969.
She taught school in Galesburg, Kewanee and Buda for many years before her retirement. She moved to Alaska six years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. George Cottle.
Surviving with the daughter are six grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hinds and Mrs. Florence Risedorf, both of Peoria.
She was preceded in death, addition to her husband, by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Services will be today in Anchorage.
Graveside services will be in the Hopeland Cemetery, Buda, at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. The Rev. Arno Hutchinson will officiate.
The Cavanagh and Schueneman Funeral Home, Kewanee, is directing local arrangements."
