Funeral Services For Mrs. M. Baker Are Held Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Mel H. Baker were held at 2:30 Saturday at the First Baptist church with Rev. James Weston, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.
Mrs. Baker, who has been in failing health for sometime, died Friday in the Carnegie Nursing Home where she had been living the past year and a half.
Edna Viola McGee was born March 19, 1876. She was married to Mel Baker and they resided many years on the farm in the Union Corner community northwest of town. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Baptist death.
Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Delia Spraker, Muskogee; two step-daughters, Mrs. J.E. Charles, Carnegie, and Mrs. Bertha Eller of Washington State; three sons, Earl Baker, Lubbock, Jack Douglas, also of Lubbock and Oscar Douglas of Plainview, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Martin, Cordell; two brothers, Oscar McGee of Mountain Park, and Carl McGee of Arizona; and other relatives.
