Mildred K. " Katie" Johnson, 78, of Palmyra, Missouri, died at 8:35 P. M. Wednesday at Maple Lawn Nursing Home. Katie was born May 1, 1929 in Marion County, Missouri to William A. and Edna Bowles Johnson. She is survived by sisters: Velma Singleton and Joan ( Bob) Summers; brother, Bill ( Carol Ann) Johnson, allof Palmyra; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, May Belle Stout, her parents, and a niece. Katie was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army and served her country for 20 years. She retired in 1967. She was a 1947 graduate of Palmyra High School. Private graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice .
