LEE HENDERSON FOUND DEAD SUNDAY EVENING
Prominent Man of the Osmond Ward Drowns in Shallow Irrigation Ditch.

The entire community was shocked Monday night to learn of the sudden and untimely death of Lee Henderson of Osmond. Mr Henderson had been in attendance at a historical meeting that afternoon and upon returning home, decided to do some irrigating, which he accordingly did.
His wife was away from home at that time and upon her return, thinking he had gone to do some other work on the hill she proceeded to attend to the evening chores. As time passed by, she made several inquiries but no one seemed to have seen her husband. Thinking of his physical condition and of his bing subject to falling unconscious at time, she finally became alarmed and called upon relatives and friends to help her search for him. Darkness came on, the moon came up and finally there in the shallow irrigation ditch revealed by the moon beams, lay Mr Henderson cold in death. He was first discovered by his brother, Wallace. Evidence proved him to have been dead for about three hours.
Mr Henderson was born in Afton 30 years ago in April and has been a life long resident of the valley. He was a good friend and neighbor, was ward clerk of Osmond at the time of his death. Besides a number of friends brothers and sisters, he leaves a widow and two children to mourn his sudden demise.
Funeral services were held in the Afton meeting house Thursday afternoon. A large crowd was in attnedance and the exercises were beautiful and consoling. The speakers were Stake President Clarence Gardner, Cpimse;prs Birtpm amd Barris and A. Lu Hale. James Swensen thanked all for their assistance and consideration of the family in its bereavement.
