Arnold Henry Brandt, son of Jacob and Annie (Reimer) Brandt was born May 13, 1902 near Mountain View, Oklahoma, and died September 9, 1970, at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 27 days.
On January 25, 1925, he was united in marriage to Frieda Funck and two children were born to them, a son and a daughter.
In April 1967, he suffered a light heart attack, but recovered from that and was able to resume work. In September 1969, he had major surgery and in May of this year tests were made and it was found that he had acute leukemia.
He was a member of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church of Gotebo and had been since 1919. He was in business in Gotebo before he began work with the county highway work.
Among survivors are his wife, Frieda, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Milton (Ruth Ann) Guhr of Potwin, Kansas; one son, Kermit, of Lawton; five grandsons; two brothers, Waldo, Newton, Kansas; Jake of Plainview, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Aaron Thiessen, Edmond; and Mrs. Ellis Middleton, Eldorado Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Leon Kliewer, Herman Zacharias, Aaron Zacharias, Adolf Krause, Grady Cockreham and D.H. Ragland.
