WILSON-- Services for Hazel E. Meyer, 94, will 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kay Buchanan officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Meyer was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Blue to Alfred S. and Mary Katherine Shaddox Wheeler and died April 20, 2001.
She married Edward Albert Meyer on April 12, 1927, in Okmulgee. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1996. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters and five brothers.
Meyers grew up in southeastern Oklahoma where she graduated from Boswell High School in 1924. They moved to Mounds in 1926 where she met and married her husband. They later relocated to Edmond and then back to Wilson in 1950 where they had continued to make their home. They joined the United Methodist Church in Wilson that same year. Meyer served as president of the of the Ardmore District UMU four terms and as president of the local UMU for several years. Joining the Order of the Eastern Star in 1945 at Edmond and transferring to the Wilson Chapter in 1950, she was worthy matron of OES four terms and royal matron of Court 34 of the Amaranth -- Ardmore for three terms. She was presented with a 50-year pin among other numerous pins and awards during her long tenure.
She is survived by a son, James O. Meyer, and a daughter, Wilma J. Miller, all of the home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Mashore, Jack Richardson, Charles Parrish, Gene Griffin, Bob Wilson and Wayne Russell.
