Mr. Clyde Albert Shiflett, age 82, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at a local hospital.

Mr. Shiflett was born in Polk County, GA, on July 11, 1940, son of the late Emory Preston Shiflett and the late Sally Mae Davis Shiflett. He was also preceded in death by 6 sisters, Mamie Marks, Faye Helen Cox, Mae Ellen Hindmon, Sarah Griggs, Addie Ruth Cain, and Jewell Shiflett, and by 3 brothers, Whitson Shiflett, Dewey Shiflett and Kenneth Shiflett. Mr. Shiflett was a graduate of Pepperell High School and was a proud lifelong Dragon. He worked for Georgia Power at Plant Hammond for over 25 years. Mr. Shiflett was a die-hard sports fan, especially the Atlanta Braves, and would watch any game that was on. He enjoyed working on washers and dryers and would repair them up until his health limited him. Mr. Shiflett loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Jones Shiflett, Lindale, to whom he was married in 1961; a son, Ben Shiflett (Denise), Lindale; 2 daughters, Conda Gaz (John), Hiram, and Lisa Byerly (Ron), Carrollton; 7 grandchildren, Brian Shiflett, Lindale, Hannah Gaz, Middle East, Jacob Byerly, Carrollton, Jeremy Gaz (Kaity), Port Charlotte, FL, Kiera Amyx (Adam), Taylorsville, Kayla England (Dylan), Bowden, and Kyle Shiflett (Devyn), Lindale; a sister, Mozelle Shiflett Gayton; 2 brothers, Charles B. Shiflett (Peggy) and Wallace Shiflett (JoAnn); 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Shiflett and Betty Burkhalter Shiflett; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Byars and the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1pm until service time at Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Thursday at Rehoboth Baptist Church and include: Brian Shiflett, Jacob Byerly, Jeremy Gaz, Kyle Shiflett, Dylan England, Adam Amyx and Joe Allen Jones.
