Mrs. Hildred Highsmith Dixon, age 76, of Willard Road, Willard, died Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Britthaven of Wrightsville Beach. Funeral service were held Wednesday, August 17, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Wells Chapel Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Stan Jenkins. Burial followed in Wells Chapel Church Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Maready and husband Timmie of Rocky Point; one step-granddaughter, April Poindexter of Rose Hill; three grandsons, Jason Dixon of Rose Hill, Bradley Maready and Kyle Maready, both of Rocky Point; one great-granddaughter, Amber Dixon of Kenansville; one great-grandson, Evan Dixon of Kenansville and one granddaughter-in-law, Vicki Dixon of Kenansville. Born in Duplin County, Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Lewis Thomas and Alma Murphy Highsmith. She was predeceased by one son, Carl Dixon. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Wells Chapel Baptist Church. Visitation was from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Padgett Funeral Home, 401 West Main Street, Wallace.
