Cordelia Elizabeth Boling was born 1 April 1904 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma Territory to Elijah H. and Amanda Alafair Lee (Wilson) Boling. On 21 July 1919, Cordelia married Orel Orrin McDaniels in Muskogee. They lived in Ft. Gibson for a few years, then moved to Tulsa. To this union there were 3 boys and 6 girls born. 'Aunt Cordy,' as she was known to friends, was helpful to others in need. Her son, Benny, recalled gardening with her and noticed she would place the first of each tenth onion pulled aside on it's own. He noticed that each first pulled was larger than the others. He asked his mom why she was placing the larger onions in the separate pile. She said that was her tithe to God. She loved flower gardening. Many of her flowers have become part of a precious 'heirloom' flower garden in her grandchildren's gardens. Recipes have been passed from mother to daughter (even son) each generation. Cordy had a number of recipes. She was a beloved, faithful member of the First Apostolic Church of Carbondale. Cordelia was instructed to be propped up in bed when sleeping. She decided comfort more important. Some of her last words were, "I love you Jesus most of all." She died from congestive heart failure on 15 June 1954. She was interred beside her husband, Orel, in Tulsa Memorial Park Cemetery.
