PICKENS, SC - Julius Earnest McJunkin, 70, of Ambler School Road, Route 1, Pickens, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Pickens County, son of the late Nathanial "Nat" and Sally Banks McJunkin. He was a retired farmer and a member of Griffin Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Keith McJunkin; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Faye) Cathcart of Travelers Rest, Mrs. R. D. (Louise) Cassell of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Jimmy (Betty Mae) Ross of Greenville; seven sons, Fulton McJunkin of Greenville, the Rev. Paul and the Rev. Edwin McJunkin of Pickens, Bertrand McJunkin of Six Mile, Sgt. Vernon McJunkin, U.S. Army in Germany, Lloyd McJunkin of Rosman, North Carolina, and Weldon McJunkin of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Gardner and Mrs. Robert Eskew of Greenville; four brothers, Elbert and Gene McJunkin of Pickens, Hubert McJunkin of Central and Wyatt McJunkin of Greenwood; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Baptist Church by the Rev. G. B. Freeman, the Rev. Charles Barrick and the Rev. Dr. S. H. Jones. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be L. D. Lawson, Charles N. and Rudolph Galloway, Guy Waldrop, Dean, Roy, Harold and J. C. McJunkin.

The body is at Clayton-Dillard Funeral Home and will be taken to the home at 3 p.m. Friday and to the church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
