Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Whaley, 72, died in a Duncan hospital Saturday. She had been ill for about six weeks. Born in Bland, Arkansas on February 10, 1890, she was married in Cabiness Arkansas on July 17, 1904 to William M. Whaley. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1937. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include 13 children, Mrs. W.R. Benton, Willington Texas, Mrs. CH Taylor, Burkburnett, Texas; W.J. (Billy) Whaley, J.F. (Jim) Whaley, Mrs. Bob Palmer and Mrs. Maxine Burt all of Marlow; J.R. (John Whaley and Miss Mattie Whaley, Duncan; Mrs. E.M. Palmer, Pauls Valley; O.L. (Buddy) Whaley, Elmore City and Mrs. Fred Massey, San Jose California,; 45 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren; four sister, Mrs. Ora Miller, Mesa Arizona, Mrs. Ida Brown, Marlow, Mrs. Clara Hattey, California and Mrs. Belle Cobb, Henton and one brother Ben Snodgrass, Mesa Arizona.

Pallbearers were J.C. Goree Jr., Walter Brown, Wayne Burklo, Charles Milliron, Willie Whaley and Rollie Palmer. Burial was in the Marlow cemetery directed by Callaway-Smith Funeral Home.
