Anchorage resident Juan "Johnny" Agron, 66, died Jan. 10, 2004, at Providence Alaska Medical Center of congestive heart failure. A visitation was at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, with a service with the Rev. Vincent Blanco officiating. A reception followed at the church. Burial was at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Agron was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Santa Ana, Cugayan, Philippines. He moved to Alaska in 1978. He worked at the Duty Free Shop and LSG Skychefs before his retirement. Mr. Agron enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing mahjong. His family said, "He was a great father, loyal friend and dedicated husband."

Survivors include his wife, Estelita Agron of Alaska; daughters, Erish Agron and Lei DePew of Alaska; son, Jeizl Agron of Minnesota and Deiush Agron of Alaska; granddaughter, Keara Agron of Minnesota; and brothers, Alfredo Agron of Alaska, and Ernie Agron, Federico Agron, Angel Agron and Luis Agron of the Philippines. Arrangements were made with Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
