Former Resident of County Dies at St. Petersburg
Mrs. Sally Young Lewitz, former Porter Co., resident, died Friday morning in St. Petersburg, Fla., it was reported here today after her sister, Mrs. L.M. Ray, 601 Lincolnway, was notified by telegram Friday.
She was born in Porter county & lived here until her marriage to Harry Lewitz of St. Petersburg 10 years ago.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sisters; Mrs. L.M. Ray, 601 Lincolnway, & Mrs. Dorothy Osborne, 607 Indiana of this city. A brother, Marion Lewis, preceded her in death in 1951.
She had two daughters, Verna, who died in 1923 & Mrs Abbie Lay of LaPorte, who survives in addition to a granddaughter, Mrs. Betty Lay Gross, & a great granddaughter, Sally Gross both of LaPorte.
The deceased was a member of the first Methodist church here until her death. She also maintained her membership in the Eastern Star & Rebekah lodges in Valparaiso.
Funeral services will be held sometime Monday afternoon at the LePell Funeral home. Time of arrival of the remains from St. Petersburg is uncertain.

Hold Last Rites For Mrs. Harry Lawitz
Funeral services for Mrs Sally Young Lewitz, former Porter county resident, wife of Harry Lewitz were held Monday at 2:30 pm at LePell Funeral home. Mrs. Lewitz died Friday morning in St. Petersburg.
The Rev. Percy Thomas, pastor of the Methodist church officiated at the rites, Miss Mae Brown was organist.
Burial was in Lutheran cemetery. Pallbeares were Everett Lembke, Howard Clark, Thomas Benton, Sr., Neil Lamb, Donald Ray, & Leslie Casbon.
