Gladys Louise Tubb Vaughan married Ellie Lee (Pete) Vaughan, Jr. December 24, 1944, son of Ellie Lee Vaughan and Mary Ella Lavies Vaughan. They had three children; Cheryl Diane Vaughan Williams born July 9, 1947, (Married Rufus Theodore Williams of House, MS) Patricia Lynn Vaughan Whitehead January 21, 1949 - April 5, 2001 of a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX (Married Robert Samuel Whitehead of Okalona, MS)and Ellie Lee Vaughn III "Little Pete" (1950-2014) born November 29, 1950 (Married Sandra Jean Tipton of Greenwood Springs, MS).

She was a hard worker, a strong woman of faith and virtue, a two-time cancer survivor and died peacefully of congestive heart failure at her home in Hatley, MS. She was a member of Cotton Gin Port Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution, the Diligent Diggers Garden Club of Amory, MS, a strong Believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a member of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. She left nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
