A daughter of James and Polly (Chapman) Clemons. Elenor married Samuel Patch, a son of Simon Jr., and Betsey (Farmer) Patch before 1827 at Wallingford, Vermont.
Elenor lost both her parents by age seven. Her father (James Clemons) died at the Battle of Plattsburg in the War of 1812 and her mother died subsequently of a sunstoke.
During her life, she had to witness the deaths of six of her fourteen children. In 1845, a son George age 2; in 1849 two sons, Isaac age 4 and Alonzo age 2; in 1852 a married daughter, Harriet, wife of Leverett Kent lost her life to insanity and in 1862 two more sons would pass away, another son named Isaac age 6 and William age 2.
Samuel and Elenor (Clemons) were original members of the East Wallingford Baptist Church.
