ST. PAUL, KS — Janice L. Paulie, 47, St. Paul, Kansas, died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village, St. Paul, Kansas.

She was born Feb. 3, 1957, in Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Lyle and Mildred I. (Gerhard) Cuppet.

She grew up and attended schools in rural Erie, KS, graduating from Erie High School in 1975.

She was a certified nurse's aid, and worked in several local nursing homes. She was currently employed as a medical records technician at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the National Association of Geriatric Nursing Assistants.

She enjoyed flowers and sewing.

On June 16, 1978, she married John Paulie Jr. at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Brian Paulie, of the home; two daughters, Marcia and Kristen Paulie, both of St. Paul, KS; her father; a brother, Darrell Cuppet, rural Erie, KS; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral Mass will be May 3, 2004, at St. Francis Catholic Church, St. Paul, Kansas, led by Fr. Daniel Vacca. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Prairie Mission Retirement Village Chapel Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
