George P. Bower, prominent Tipton citizen, died suddenly at 12:20 o'clock last night at his home on North West street. A second acute attack of heart and stomach trouble caused his death before medical assistance could arrive. A first attack occurred early Sunday evening at the home of his brother, Frank Bower and family on East Jefferson street, but he recovered fully from that. It was believed that he was apparently in good health before he retired for the night, but shortly before midnight he called his wife and before help could arrive he expired. He would have been 60 years old had he lived until June 29. He was born in this city on South Main street, his parents being John and Catharine Bower. His father died forty years ago, but the mother survives. The mother had been in the hospital at Kokomo all winter but was brought to the house of her son this morning. Besides the mother, he is survived by the widow and one brother, Frank Bower, of this city. Three sisters died many years ago. He and his wife had no children.
