She married James E. Gidley on April 10, 1947, in North Manchester, Indiana; he died December 27, 2001.
She was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ and attended Roann First Brethren Church. She was a member of the Hardee's Breakfast Club and loved knitting, crocheting, and going to rummage sales. She was a 1942 graduate of Roann High School. She worked at Wabash Magnetics and was a server at the Honeywell Center. She also was a W.A.V.E. in the US Navy during World War II.
She is survived by two sons, James S. (Patty) Gidley of Wabash, and Thom E. (Tamala) Gidley of Denver; two daughters, Carla Kizer of Warsaw, and Cheryl (Brian) Ridgeway of Lagro; sister, Sandra (Hank) Bartlett of Greentown; brother, Richard Beam of Fort Wayne; five grandsons, Jake Kizer of Warsaw, Joe Kizer of North Webster, Kevin Gidley of Wabash, Josh Gidley of Wabash, and Mike (Dessa) Gidley of Peru; four granddaughters, Shelley (Sam) Hipskind of Wabash, Trisha (Brad) Metzger of Wabash, Stacy (Shawn) Ahlfeld of Greenwood, and Angela Gidley of Denver; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
