Albert ''Newt'' Anness Sr. , 79, of Warsaw, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday at Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw after an extended illness.
He was a retired truck driver with Crane Plumbing Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Vine Run Baptist Church, Dry Ridge. His wife, Kathleen Anness, died in 1997.
Survivors include sons, Al Anness Jr. of Florence and Allen Anness of Erlanger; a daughter, Sadie Harris of Hebron; stepsons, Wayne Lafferty of Lebanon, Ohio, and Ken Lafferty of Willis, Texas; a sister, Emily Pigg of O'Fallon, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
