Dollie Beatrice Welch Rogers Skelton, 84, of Palestine, Texas died January 7, 2008. Burial in Land of Memory Cemetery was under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Maypearl, Texas to the late James Thomas and Ella Mae (Franks) Welch. She had lived in Germany, the Philippines, and Florida. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everette Rogers; brother, Jimmie Welch; and sisters, Edith Higginbotham and Belle McCracken. She was survived by her husband of 53 years, James E. Skelton of Palestine; son, William "Buddy" Skelton of Singapore; brother, Richard Welch of Palestine; and sister, Nellie Crum of Corsicana.
