Anna Margretta Andersen Kohl Boldt

Anna Margretta Kohl Boldt, 84 , daughter of Anton and Elizabeth Boettger Andersen, was born March 11 1901, in Lincoln Twp., Shelby Co. She attended Lincoln Twp. rural school and cared for her ailing mother when she was young. She married Atman Van Kohl on June 1, 1920, at Denison. Five children were born to this union. They farmed in Cass Twp. and then moved to the Tennant area. Following his death in 1936, she continued on the farm until 1946, when she moved to Walnut. On Sept. 30, 1955 she married Louis Boldt at Harlan. In 1957 they moved to Irwin area when she resided until become a resident of the Salem Lutheran Homes in March of 1982. During much of her life she cared for people needing assistance in their home. She died on July 7, 1985 at the Myrtue Memorial Hospital at age 84 years, 3 months and 26 days.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Atman in 1936, and a second husband, Louis in 1961; four brothers: Fred, her twin brother Bill, Louis and a brother in infancy and one sister Louisa Hayes.


Survivors include two sons: Warren Kohl of Defiance and Bill Kohl of Logan; three daughters: Mrs Pearl Kenney of Overland Park, KS.; Louise, Mrs Raymond Andersen and Betty, Mrs Martinus Christensen both of Harlan. Also by 23 grandchildren, 34 great grand children, many nieces and nephews and other relatives.


Funeral services were held Wednesday, July l0, 1985 at the Burmeister Funeral Home with Rev. J Harry Thomsen and Rev. Paul Olsen officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery at Irwin, with Bill Kohl Alvin Kohl, David Kohl, Bill Kenney, Donald Kohl, Michael Kohl, Calvin Kenney, Edward Kenney, Jim Christensen and Steve Christensen, all Grandsons, serving as casketbearers.
