Funeral services for Weldon Wilford Bastian, born June 24, 1912 and died Jan. 7, 2000, were held Wednesday, Jan. 12 in the Ashley Stake Center with Bishop Mike Haslem officiating.

Larry Bastian offered the family prayer with prelude and postlude music played by Jana McKeachnie.

June Bastian, brother, gave the invocation and Marlene Safsten, daughter, offered the eulogy.

Speakers were sons, Daniel Bastian, Steven Bastian, David Bastian and Larry Bastian; and brother, Del Mar Bastian.

Remarks were offered by Bishop Haslem.

Nicole Bastian, granddaughter, played a piano solo, "Oh Divine Redeemer;" Rachel Bastian, granddaughter, accompanied by Diane Bastian, played a violin solo, "Meditation" from "Thais;" Chappy and Penny Lindsay, daughter, accompanied by Diane Bastian, sang "Come Unto Him;" and Weldon's granddaughters sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd."

Derrill Bastian, brother, gave the benediction and David Bastian, dedicated the grave.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Michael Williams, Matthew Williams, Trenton Bastian, Robert Bastian, Jared Bastian, David Lindsay and Nate Christensen.

Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Hullinger Jolley with compassionate services offered by the Ashley 1st Ward Relief Society.
