Obit: John McCurdy, 82, a retired farmer, died at his home in Shelby County this morning following a long illness.
He was a native of Franklin County, born Feb 29, 1876, the son of the late Mrs. Millie Bledsoe McCurdy and Mr. Aaron McCurdy. He had farmed and lived in the Peaks Mill section of the county most of his life and had resided in Shelby county for the past nine years. He was a member of the Grafenburg Christian Church.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Masters McCurdy of Shelby County; one daughter, Mrs. Wavie Miller of Miamisburg,Ohio; one son, J. C. McCurdy of Shelby County; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Geneva Eastman, Franklin county; three stepsons, Ernest Wiley of Gypsum, Ohio, James Wiley of Chicago and Willie Wiley of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Ed McCurdy, Independence, Ky; six grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Mr. McCurdy's body is at the Harrod Brothers Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. George Watson, pastor of the Grafenburg Christian Church officiating.
Interment will follow in the family lot in the Peaks Mill cemetery.
Aaron McCurdy was born Feb 1837 in either KY or IN depending on which census you look at. He died After 1900 as he is in that census but dies before the 1911 KY death certificates are required.

Mildred Ann Bledsoe was born 1846 in Harrodsburg, Madison Co., KY and dies between Nov 1885 and June 1900 as she does not show up in the 1900 Woodford Co., KY census where her husband Aaron McCurdy is marked as widowed.

Her obituary from the Frankfort Roundabout of Frankfort,
Franklin Co., KY reads "Died in Covington on Tuesday,
Miss Wade B. McCurdy, aged 21 years. The remains were
brought here Wednesday and the funeral and burial took
place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elder James Clark
conducted the services-he had baptized and received into
the church and preached the funeral of four sisters in
the family. (this would account for Elizabeth, Mary,
Jane and Wavie-unless I am missing one which is
