The funeral of John Rader, who died near Hubbard on Tuesday, and whose remains arrived in Mankato last night, was held this afternoon in Decoria. Mr. Rader was 77 years old and was a resident of Blue Earth county for nearly forty years. He leaves six grown up sons and daughters. Their names are Louie, Fred and William Rader and Mrs. Schaefer of Becker County, Mrs. Hooker, of Hubbard and Mrs. Byersdorf of Brown's Valley
MR, 4/28/1898

Addit. Note:November, 2016. I found his records in Mecklenburg (German Lutheran Church records), and his name was "Johan Martin Reder", son of Joachim Christian Reder. I found additional children: Ernst August Theodor, a twin to Frederick, born 15 Jul 1853 - died 15 Nov 1854, Miechenhagen, Mecklenburg, Germany; sister, Maria Lissette Henrike, born 8 Aug 1855, Miechenhagen - died on board ship while coming to America. Verbal family history has always said that Frederick had a twin, and that a baby had died on board ship, but I couldn't find records until now (German Baptisms). SJ Rader

His mother was Maria Wilhelmine Margaretha Sophia Brinker. The family was from the Passee/Wokrent/Poischendorf/Oberhagen/Mieckenhagen areas near Rostock, Mecklenburg.
