Virginia Caroline Lambert, daughter of the late Hugh Nolan Lambert, Sr., and Rose Lee Elena Smith Lambert, married Monte Mervyn Young, March 17, 1938, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. Monte graduated from North Carolina State College, Raleigh, North Carolina, in Forestry, he was a Forest Ranger. Her second husband was Joseph M. Sweet (1926- 2014).

Virginia and Monte were the parents of two daughters, Loretta and Lynda.

Virginia and Joe adopted a son, Jonathan.

Virginia's favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 2: 10-11

Virginia was the granddaughter of Albert Jefferson Lambert and Martha Ann Hall Lambert, and Nimrod Jarrett Smith and May Emmaline Roberts Smith.
