Vernon C. Mullins, 89, 25 S.W 14th St., died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at his home after a short illness. He was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to Hawley and Margaret Sims Mullins. He moved to Richmond in 1929 and lived in New Paris, Ohio, for 16 years. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired as a welder from Hayes Track.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ola Irene Mullins; three daughters, Wathalene Rasner of Richmond and Linda Brown and Sharon Robinson, both of New Paris, Ohio; one son, Denver Mullins of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mamie Banks of Richmond, Mary Brumbaugh of New Paris, Ohio, Bessie Taylor of Greens Fork and Irene Duncan of Oxford, Ohio; one brother, William "Willie" Mullins of Liberty; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Mullins.
Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.
