Son of Capt. Byrd H Ford & Lousia Colley of VA. He married Ida Ann McPherson who was also buried here. Robert Hamel Ford is a descendant of Henry & Frances Ford of Charlotte and Pittsylvania Counties in Colonial Virginia.
R. H. Ford was elected Sheriff of Randolph Co AL in August of 1888. He was a Democrat. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and had a farm in Wedowee.
His children included Dr. Charley Edward Ford who married Julia Belle Bevis, Susie Louise Ford who became the wife of Dr. Fred Ross Mashburn, Jr., Wm Byrd Ford who married Urbis Longshore, Beverly Robt Ford and Newton Ford, all of Randolph Co AL.
