Former railroad man William A. Miller, 63 of Rt. 1, Engadine, died Aug 7, 1986 in Engadine.

Born Nov 15, 1922 in Manistique, he spent the greater part of his life here before moving to Engadine. He attended schools in Manistique and was employed by the Lake Superior and Ann Arbor Railroad in Manistique and the Ann Arbor Railroad in Owosso, Michigan . He retired Dec 22, 1971.

Mr. Miller was a member of St. Francis De Sale Church in Manistique, Engadine VFW post and the Manistique DAV Post #26. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He married the former Genevieve M. Beaudry in Manistique Oct 22, 1946.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve of Engadine; one son, Arthur of Tucson, Ariz; seven daughters, Mrs. Bernadette Faketty, Mrs. Paul (Genevieve) Brown, Mrs. Gerry (Ann) Gregoricka, Mrs. Kirby (Michelle) Freeman of Owosso, Mich., Miss Patricia Miller of Kalamazzo, Mich., Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Germain of Engadine, Mich. and Mrs. Dale (Martha) DeDegarmo of Flushing, Mich.; four brothers, George of Bradenton, Fla., James of Manistique, Russell of Dearborn, Mich., and Larry of Engadine, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Leona) Edwards of Engadine, Mich., Mrs. James (Lorraine) McKenzie of Naubinway, Mich. and Mrs. George (Gladys) Russell of Gladwin, Mich.; and ten grandchildren.

Memorial Mass was held at St. Francis de Sales Church 11 a.m. Aug 11, in Manistique with Father James Menapace officiating Burial was in Fairview Cemetery..
