McILROY, Mary L. After death separated them for 14 years, the bride has rejoined her groom. On December 21, 2007, MaryLouise (Sharp) McIlroy, passed from our hands into the arms of her beloved husband and into the place that Christ had gone to prepare for her. Born on August 6, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, she moved to Lancaster with her husband Wallace "Wally" J. McIlroy of Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1954, where they set down roots and became vital members of the Antelope Valley Community. As
such Mary served the Lancaster Women's Club in many positions including President, was an active member in the Young Republican's Club and was also named to the "Who's Who of American Women" in the early 1960's. Surviving Mary are her two children; Margaret "Meg" L. McIlroy of Lancaster, and James "Jim" E. McIlroy and daughter-in-law Brande McIlroy of Acton, two grandsons; Andrew W. McIlroy and N. Kauilani M. Carson both of Lancaster, her two sisters; Barbara J. (Sharp) Redman of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Nancy A. Sharp of Toledo, Ohio, and a sister-in-law Betty Sharp also of Toledo, Ohio. Also surviving Mary are several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2007, at Mumaw Funeral Home, 44663 N. Date Ave, Lancaster. Graveside services to follow at Lancaster District Cemetery. Cards and flowers welcome but not necessary. In lieu donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Although she is gone from our sight and reach, she is more with us now, as she watches over us and lives in our hearts.
