She met and married Martin Penrod, November 28, 1923. They were married in Holbrook, Arizona. Twelve children were born into this union. Fanny took good care of her children and loved them all. She loved to go to dances and always encouraged Mart in his roping and went to all the rodeos with him. Mart worked in the logging industry for a while, then they moved to Pinyon, Arizona, to a place his father had homesteaded.
They farmed and raised a few head of cows. Mart went to work for the State highway department, where he worked for many years. Fanny was always content to be at home with Mart and the children. Mart finally went to work on a cow ranch at McNeal, Arizona for a few years, a job he always loved, but when Fanny's health began to fail and she was diagnosed with leukemia, they moved back to Lakeside.
Fanny died in 1971 and is buried in Lakeside cemetery by her husband, Mart, and several of her children. Fanny was missed by all her family and all who knew her. She was a good friend and a good neighbor.(by Nancy E. Brown.
