Kathryn Ann Schmidt, 64, Catherine, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at her home. She was born May 9, 1943, in Catherine to Joseph P. and Adelaide (Walters) Dinkel. She attended Girls Catholic High School, Hays.
She married Vernon Schmidt on Feb. 4, 1961, in Catherine. She was a member of St. Catherine Church, Catherine.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, David Schmidt and wife, Janet, Catherine, and Keith Schmidt, Hays; a daughter, Carla Callahan and husband, Stan, Amarillo, Texas; her mother, Catherine; a brother, Larry Dinkel, Hays; two sisters, Gloria Sauer, Catherine and Stephanie Dechant, Schoenchen; five grandchildren, Joseph, Ethan, Kiefer, Kade and Kameron Schmidt; and a great-granddaughter, Ciara Schmidt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Church, Catherine; burial in St. Catherine Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to Thomas More Prep-Marian or Masses in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays.
